Born in San Jose, California, Sami Lee Woolhiser grew up in the Silicon Valley, a culturally diverse and constantly advancing technological hub. Through her art practice, she explores these ideas through a variety of techniques and mediums varying from oil on canvas to woodworking with digital fabrication processes.
Woolhiser studied Sculpture with a focus on digital fabrication and received her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2014. After graduation Woolhiser moved to Portland, OR to pursue her career in the arts and has found her dream job working for the ADX Fabrication Team as the Digital Fabrication Project Manager. In her evenings and weekends, she works in the studio as well as managing and co-curating the ANX Gallery with Emily Wobb.
“I have never found making things to be a waste of time.”
